How to Communicate Post Lockdown – The Kennedy Wilson Way!

This is the future!

BC – before Covid-19, I ran a personal impact and pitching program for my brilliant client, the global real estate investment company Kennedy Wilson.

It was just before lockdown; however, they were ahead of the curve when it came to adapting from live in-person meetings, to remote sessions.  In early March, they were keen to avoid senior management teams in KW Europe travelling from Madrid and Dublin to London, so we ran both the group and one-to-one sessions remotely.  They’d already installed these very high tech Webex screens last year, so they were set up to be 100% broadcast friendly.

I’ve got to say, the sessions then were really successful considering we weren’t in the same country. Look, this is Augusto in the Madrid office. It was as if he was in the room with me.

We had no idea that we were paving the way for the future of communication. This was the future for businesses going forward.

The good news is this. You can make this work really well too.  This hybrid remote style is an excellent solution for you going forward. You can get a group of people in the main office, just like I did at KW, and your other offices then dial in remotely from all over the world.  I’ve done this before at other client events and it’s worked really well.

The tip here is this.  Work with the camera and screen as if it is part of your audience.

My BIG TIP as you know is LOVE the lens, rather than just live with the lens!  (Don’t ignore the lens as if it’s CCTV!)

The KW team weren’t used to the camera being on and how to behave around it, so I showed them what to do, and they loved it.

A quick idea for you... if you want your team to be better at VCs I can help.

Would you like me to run a video conferencing masterclass via Zoom for you and your team? Many of my clients find it really useful like Juliana Weiss Dalton, Head of Corporate Affairs at Kennedy Wilson Europe

TESTIMONIAL
“Esther’s tips have been a game-changer to our international team. We previously only used video conferencing for internal meetings, not as a communication tool in pitches and high-level external meetings. Esther has now shown us how powerful it can be to love the lens, rather than live with the lens. It’s helping us do business across the board”

Learning how to ACE it on camera is perfect for senior leaders who need to host meetings and engage with the team or pitch to clients via VC.  You don’t need to cancel all your larger events if you master the art of working with a camera and engaging with your global audiences.  You can use the VC like a fourth wall, i.e. it’s like being in the room with you.  You can have so much more impact via video if you know some of my easy to adopt tips and tricks (learnt from all my years producing at the BBC and running Rapture TV).

I could host a group masterclass, or we could talk about one on one help for execs who need to ACE their on-screen client pitches and meetings.  This year I have 6 senior VIP clients who have regular one-to-one sessions with me via zoom (including KPMG Dubai).

Let’s chat about making an impact on camera in your organisation, I’d love to help you, so you don’t have to compromise on your content due to COVID-19. Email me to set up a quick call Esther@estherstanhope.com
